Patentstickning - Re Rag Rug X?

We have done some knitting with T-shirt rags. A two-coloured rib, the most elestic techique we know. This is not the quality that should be good when creatig a rug - as we strive to find techniques that are steady. We want them to have weight and most of all lie still o the floor. Yet, we have knitted a very elastic knitThe quality is so elastic that is 'flows' , also because of it's weight. It becomes two-faced, with a black stripe that dominates one side and a white stripe dominating the other. The stripes expand when stretching the fabric in the width and contracts when pulled lengtwise. As if it was alive. The question is if this can become a rug?
