Bl a till Rwanda.

Uganda.

We had visitors from far away today. Creative entreprenörs and journalists from Rwanda, inviter by the Swedish Institute. The aim is to create a dialogue on how creativity and innovation can cteate growth prosperity and quality of life.

A creative grupp, interested in recycling and now with new view on textiles. Aslo us.
Agian we are reminded of the bigger picture. The material we use, a tip of an iceberg of clothes we all discard or donate to charity, would have ended up on the dump,
Another part is the clothes that acctualy are sold second hand here in Sweden. A third part of all that we throw away is often exported to a third country. Rwanda is one of them.

Our visiter tell us about the large market for imported second hand clothes in Kigali, Rwanda (there is no domestic textils industry in the country). Prices are compared. Cheaer than in Sweden but more expensive than in the neighbouring Uganda.
We are again reminded that we are just a peg in the textile wheel spinning faster and faster.
